Cambodia Fiber Optic Communication Networks Co., Ltd (CFOCN) requested approval from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to undertake a significant project involving the drilling and installation of fibre optic cables across nine major provinces. This request was discussed during a meeting chaired by Mr. Lim Sidenin, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, on 21 June 2024.

The proposed project aims to enhance the fibre optic network in Kandal, Kampot, Kampong Speu, Kampong Thom, Kep, Sihanoukville, Koh Kong, Takeo, and Svay Rieng provinces.
