Renovation of 95km NR41 Officially Begins

The project to upgrade 95-km NR41 under Chinese fund of over US$67 million has officially begun.

The ground-breaking ceremony for NR41 was held on 26 December under the presidency of Cambodia Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen and  Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia HE Wang Wentian.

The construction is being carried out by China Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC) and technically supervised by Guangzhou Wanan Construction Supervision Co., Ltd., with a construction period of 40 months and will be completed in 2026.

The project is planned to cost a total of more than US$67 million, a concessional loan from the Chinese government, together with the contribution of the government.

NR41 is an essential economic connection passing through four provinces: Kandal, Kampong Speu, Takeo and Kampot. It connects to major international ports such as Kampot Multi-Purpose Port and the under-construction logistics centre, Kampot Tourism Port and the newly built Kep Tourism Port – Koh Tonsay.

NR41 connects from NR4 at Thnal Toteung (border of Samrong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province and Ang Snoul District, Kandal Province) to NR3 in Chum Kiri District, Kampot Province.

The national road was built once in 2011 as a two-lane road.
