Gov’t Close Deal with Contractor for Kratie-Kampong Thom Bridge, Construction to Begin This Year

Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol has confirmed that the ministry has already completed negotiations with contractors for the Kratie-Kampong Thom bridge project, with construction scheduled to begin by the end of this year.

HE Sun Chanthol made the remarks during a meeting with the Regional Technical Infrastructure and Integration Working Group (IRITWG) on Thursday 19 August.

According to HE Sun Chanthol, the project has already secured financial support in form of a loan from China, while all related plans and studies have also been completed. The project has also already submitted to Prime Minister Hun Sen for review.

According to the study, the bridge will be 1,761 metres long and will take approximately two to three years to complete.
