Cambodia Renames 9km Road in Ream as “Cambodia-Maldives Friendship Blvd”

Cambodia has renamed a 9km long Blvd in Sihanoukville as “Cambodia-Maldives Friendship Boulevard”, as a symbol of friendship between the two countries. 

SHV Governor Kuoch Chamroeun said on 15 February that PM Samdech Hun Sen has already agreed to choose Street 45 or Ream Blvd, which is a road connecting NR4 at the Dragon Triangle roundabout to the Uma-Mahesor roundabout. 

The boulevard has already been built and is more than 9km long and 27.75 metres wide. 

On 16 January 2023, Samdech Techo Hun Sen stated that the choice of a road named after Cambodia-Maldives Friendship Boulevard aims to show the close friendship between the two countries. (Read more)

Apart from this, in Sihanoukville, some other roads with foreign names, such as Cambodia-Russia Friendship Road, John Kennedy Road, and so on.
