Hong Kong Investors Show Interest in Cambodia’s Electrical Appliances Sector

In a significant move for economic collaboration, the Hong Kong Electrical Appliance Industries Association has expressed a keen interest in investing in Cambodia’s burgeoning electrical appliances sector.

This development emerged during a recent meeting between HE Nut Unwanara, Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodia Investment Committee, HE Ting Sik Wa Thomas, President of the association, and representatives from ten member companies.

HE Nut Unwanara welcomed the delegation, emphasising the importance of understanding Cambodia’s investment landscape. During the discussions, he highlighted the promising opportunities available within the country’s electrical and electronics sector and encouraged the association to consider Cambodia as a viable investment destination.

The representatives from the association exhibited a strong enthusiasm for potential investments, raising numerous inquiries about the market and operational environment. They noted that Cambodia stands out as one of Southeast Asia’s most promising locations for investment, particularly for Hong Kong investors seeking new opportunities.

Furthermore, the association representatives urged the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) to enhance efforts to attract Hong Kong investment in the electrical and electronics sectors, recognising the mutual benefits that could arise from such partnerships.

Established in 1998, the Hong Kong Electrical and Electronic Equipment Industry Association consists of 202 member companies and serves as a key voice for the electrical equipment industry in Hong Kong. As discussions progress, both sides are optimistic about forging a fruitful relationship that could significantly enhance Cambodia’s electrical appliances sector.
