Japanese investors have embarked on a groundbreaking venture to establish a sprawling Japanese standard pepper farm in Trapeang Touk village, Chob Ta Trav commune, Angkor Thom district, Siem Reap province. The first phase of this visionary project will span an impressive 72 hectares, with plans to expand to a staggering 200 hectares in the near future.

During a site visit on June 10, 2023, accompanied by Mr. Som Samsak, Director of Siem Reap Provincial Finance Office, Mr. NABESHIMA KATSUHITO, President of Japanese Standard Vegetable Farm, expressed his enthusiasm for this state-of-the-art pepper farm. Harnessing cutting-edge technology, the farm promises exceptional productivity and serves as a role model for local agriculture.

With a current monthly yield of 500 tons and a strategic focus on international markets, this venture exemplifies the farm’s dedication to exporting its premium produce.

Mr. NABESHIMA KATSUHITO further emphasized that the farm will serve as an educational platform for aspiring pepper growers, enabling them to gain valuable insights and expertise from the farm’s success. By fostering knowledge transfer and sharing best practices, this initiative seeks to uplift the entire agricultural sector.

As the farm expands its operations to cover 72 hectares in its initial phase, Mr. NABESHIMA KATSUHITO envisions an increase in demand from potential buyers.
