Japan Provides US$22 Million on Cambodia’s Clean Water Project

The Japanese government through the Japanese embassy to Cambodia has decided to provide US$22 million in aid to Cambodia for the implementation of the project for the expansion of the water supply system in Pursat province.

The money will be used to build a water treatment plant and a clean water supply system in the province.

The Exchange of Note of Japanese government’s grant aid was signed on December 4 at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation under the witness of H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. MIKAMI Masahiro.

The grand aid demonstrates Japan’s commitment to contributing to the betterment of the living environment in Cambodia, particularly in the field of clean water.

H.E. MIKAMI Masahiro said that through the project, it is expected that the percentage of clean water supplies in the city of Pursat will increase.

He said the cooperation of the clean water supply sector is the significant sector for the long term and provide large benefit.

The grant aid on the water supply system in line with the government in providing clean water at 100 percents through the country by 2025.
