The road connection from Koh Tonsay Port to Angkol Beach Reaches 95% Completion

In a testament to progress and connectivity, the road connection between the Koh Tonsay port to Angkol Beach in Kep province has achieved an impressive 95% completion as of January 2024. The visionary project, initiated by HE Som Piseth, Governor of Kep Province, in collaboration with CCT, commenced on 17 January 2023.

HE Som Piseth reported on the substantial advancements in the project, highlighting key milestones:

  1. The vehicular road, spanning between 6 to 10 metres in width, is now entirely paved with AC rubber, achieving 100% completion.
  2. The cycling lane, with a width ranging from 3 to 3.5 metres, is nearly 100% finalized.
  3. The pedestrian walkway, measuring 1 to 1.5 metres in width, spans a total length of approximately 12.7 kilometres and is in progress.
  4. Moreover, the meticulously planned road will feature solar-powered public lighting poles in each town along its stretch, enhancing safety and aesthetics.

Governor Som Piseth emphasised the strategic importance of this road as the primary tourist artery connecting Kep Beach and Angkol Beach—a renowned tourist destination celebrated for relaxation and recreation.

Funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) with an investment of around US$10.5 million, this coastal road project is part of the second phase of the ADB Tourism Infrastructure Project. It encompasses two sub-projects, namely the landfill and the Koh Tonsay port project. (Read more and more)
