Progress Update: NR 33 Rehabilitation Project Reaches 33.39% Completion

The ambitious endeavor to restore and enhance the quality of NR No. 33 has reached a completion milestone of 33.39%, according to the site visit conducted by HE Pal Chandara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and the technical working group of China Road Bridge Corporation (CRBC) on July 13, 2023.

Significant accomplishments thus far include clearing and preparing a total distance of 52.57 kilometers, the construction of sub-grade roads spanning 49.88 kilometers, and the establishment of a sturdy sub-base covering 36.76 kilometers.

During the visit, HE Secretary of State emphasized the importance of executing the project with utmost precision and technical proficiency to ensure the avoidance of errors or redundancies. This directive underscores the commitment to delivering high-quality results.

The NR 33 rehabilitation project is an extensive undertaking, estimated to cost over $61 million. The funding for this project is a concessional loan provided by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, supplemented by the contribution of the Royal Government of Cambodia to address additional impacts and taxes.
