New US$3-million Olympic Stadium Swimming Pool to Officially Opened

The new US$3-million international-standard swimming pool of the National Olympic Stadium will be officially opened on 28 September, after construction was completed in April.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister Samdech Tea Banh and joined by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.

The swimming pool renovation project includes the repair and expansion of the swimming and diving pools; the installation of new pumps, water filters, and over 1,600 seats; and the construction of an equipment room and training room. (Read more)

The project took 18 months to complete and cost approximately US$3 million, funded by the Shanghai Construction Company.

The Cambodian government has been renovating and building swimming pools and national stadiums across many provinces nationwide to prepare for hosting the 2023 SEA Games. (Read more, more and more)
