Renovation of Four Major Roads in Kratie to Begin Before April 2023: PM

The renovation of four major roads in Kratie province will begin before April 2023, which was confirmed by Cambodia Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen during the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the new Mekong River bridge in Kratie on 2 January 2023. 

The first road is NR73 which connects Tbong Khmum and Kratie provinces with a length of 50km.  The procurement procedure of the renovation project has been completed with the construction agreement scheduled to be signed by the end of January 2023. The project is funded by a World Bank loan of US$15.7 million. 

The second road is NR357 connecting Kratie city to Sambo district with a length of 35.5km. Construction is set to begin before Khmer New Year in April 2023. 

The third is NR137 connecting Sandan to Sangkom with a length of 13.6km. The procurement process has been now completed with an agreement set to be signed in January. The estimated cost of this project is US$25.7 million. 

The last road is a 31.25km section (km31-km300). The construction agreement is scheduled to be signed in March under a budget of US$15 million. 

The new Mekong River bridge in Kratie along with its connecting road, on which construction began on 2 January, will become the main corridor in the project, said PM Hun Sen. (Read more)
