61-Kilometre Road Connecting NR No. 4 to Bokor Mountain Completed with 7 km of Concrete Poured

The construction of a new 61-kilometer road linking NR No. 4 to Bokor Mountain has reached a significant milestone, with 7 kilometers of concrete pouring completed as of 19 December 2024. This update was shared by Sokha Real Estate on their official Facebook page that same afternoon, marking steady progress in this transformative infrastructure project.

Planned by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the road features robust specifications: 200 mm thick concrete spanning 20 meters wide, including a 7-meter-wide car lane, a 6-meter-wide motorbike lane, and 3.5-meter buffer zones on both sides. The project’s concrete pouring phase commenced on 1 April 2024 after finalizing the new road layout. (Read more)

Once completed, this vital connection will significantly enhance accessibility for local residents, reducing travel times and supporting regional development. Stretching from kilometre 158+291 on NR No. 4 in Kampong Seila commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province, the road winds through the foothills of Kamchay, passing 500 rice fields, before ascending Bokor Mountain.

The strategic route will connect the coastal areas of Kampong Seila, Sre Ampil, and Prey Nob districts, enabling smoother travel and facilitating access to Bokor Mountain and Monivong National Park. Visitors from the north and west of Cambodia will no longer need to detour through Kampot, making the resort and surrounding areas more accessible.

The project is anticipated to bring wide-ranging benefits, including bolstering local livelihoods, stimulating investment opportunities, and boosting tourism at the Bokor resort. Approved by the Royal Government in February 2022, the construction has been entrusted to Sokha Real Estate Co., Ltd. (Read more)
