Kampot Unveils Cambodia’s Tallest & Largest Khmer-Style Clock Tower to Boost Tourism

Kampot province has unveiled Cambodia’s tallest and largest clock tower, standing at 35 metres high, with a clock face nearly 10 metres in diameter. This impressive structure, designed in traditional Khmer style, was officially launched during the groundbreaking Ceremony, attended by HE Dr Mao Thunin, Governor of Kampot Province, and Lok Chumteav Hun Chanthy Mao Thunin on 22 August 2024.

Strategically located in Ta Ang village, Sangkat Treuy Koh, Kampot city, the clock tower is expected to become a key tourist attraction, adding to the province’s rich array of recreational sites, including its beaches, fisheries, horseback riding, and more. Dr Mao Thunin highlighted that the clock’s unique design features Khmer numbers and intricate flower arrangements, further emphasising Kampot’s cultural heritage.

This monumental clock tower marks a significant addition to Kampot’s tourist offerings such as beaches, fisheries, horseback riding, seas, and other recreational areas, contributing to the province’s growing reputation as a major travel destination in Cambodia. (Read more)
