Two New Factories Worth Over US$5 million Approved for Battambang and Kampong Speu

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has officially approved private firms to invest in building two factories worth a total budget of approximately US$4.7 million in Battambang and Kampong Speu provinces.

The first investment permit has been granted to Green Power Biochemical Co., Ltd to invest US$2.3 million in building a biochemical factory in Traeng commune, Rotanak Mondol district, Battambang province.

Meanwhile, another was granted to Contender Composite Co., Ltd with the firm investing approximately US$2.4 million to build a shoe accessories factory in Veal commune, Kong Pisei district, Kampong Speu province.

These two aforementioned investment projects will create 601 jobs for Cambodians, according to CDC.

Two days ago, the CDC also approved six investment projects worth over US$100 million, one of which is a new five-star hotel project worth US$50 million in Sihanoukville. (Read more)

From the beginning of 2021 to early May, the CDC has approved at least 40 major projects, including the above projects, with total investment capital of over US$2.1 billion.
