Enhancing Safety: 433 New Security Cameras Installed in Preah Sihanouk Province

To bolster security for citizens and tourists alike, the provincial authorities of Sihanoukville have implemented an extensive network of security cameras across 433 strategic locations in Preah Sihanouk Province. During a recent press conference attended by over 60 journalists, His Excellency Mang Sineth, the Governor of Sihanoukville Province, outlined the ambitious initiative to ensure a safer environment for national and international visitors.

The installation of these security cameras is part of a broader strategy to enhance public safety in the region, particularly as Sihanoukville continues to attract a growing number of tourists and investors. “Our goal is to monitor activities closely and respond promptly to incidents,” stated HE Mang Sineth. The governor emphasized that the initiative includes the establishment of a dedicated hotline, allowing the public to report issues directly to the authorities.

The security camera system spans 533 viewing points throughout the city, with plans to expand coverage to vital locations frequented by visitors and residents alike. “We want to ensure that everyone feels safe and secure while enjoying our beautiful province,” he added.

The facility is designed not only for crime prevention but also to foster a sense of community trust. By empowering the public with a hotline for reporting concerns, provincial authorities aim to engage citizens and tourists in ensuring their own safety. “When problems arise, our team is ready to respond swiftly to address any issues,” HE Mang Sineth remarked.

With this initiative, Sihanoukville’s villagers, communes, and Sangkat areas are set to be fortified under a safety policy prioritising the well-being of all who reside in or visit the province. As Sihanoukville positions itself as a prime destination for investment and tourism, integrating cutting-edge technology in public safety measures signals a commitment to fostering a secure environment for everyone.

Residents and tourists in Preah Sihanouk Province can now enjoy their time with greater peace of mind, thanks to the proactive measures taken by local authorities to ensure a safer community for all.
