The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) recently greenlit four investment projects with a combined value of nearly US$25 million. These new factories are expected to generate significant employment opportunities, creating over 1,200 new jobs for the local workforce.

The official approval came during a meeting led by HE Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Committee, and HE Sok Phea, Deputy Governor of Kampong Speu Province on 24 May 2024. This significant investment demonstrates growing business confidence in Cambodia’s economic potential.

Here’s a breakdown of the four approved projects:

  2. Redleaf Industry (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.: This company will invest in a factory dedicated to the production of paints, anti-rust powder, and powder coating. This addition will contribute to the development of Cambodia’s manufacturing sector within the construction and industrial supplies domain.
  3. Zenith Lighting (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.: Diversifying Kampong Speu’s industrial landscape further, Zenith Lighting plans to set up a factory for producing a variety of light bulbs. This project will cater to the growing demand for lighting solutions within Cambodia and potentially the wider region.
  4. Flycat Electrical (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.: This company will focus on the healthcare sector by establishing a factory for assembling and installing medical equipment, specializing in dental cleaning equipment. This investment will contribute to advancements in equipping Cambodia’s medical facilities.

According to Deputy Governor Sok Phea, these new factories will be situated within the Samrong Tong and Kong Pisey districts. This targeted investment is poised to spur economic growth within these specific areas.
