General Department of Taxation Strengthens Real Estate Valuation Skills for Effective Revenue Collection

The General Department of Taxation is conducting training courses on primary real estate appraisal methods and real estate surveys, and classifying property titles to officials for the efficiency of revenue collection in the sector.

HE Ken Sambath, Deputy Director-General of the General Department of Taxation, stated in the training course on “Real Estate Appraisal” on 7 May that building professional capacity in the real estate sector is important to make the appraisal and calculate an accurate and effective tax base for revenue collection related to the real estate sector in accordance with the Royal Government’s revenue collection strategy 2019-2023 in order to collect tax revenue efficiently.

The General Department of Taxation is an institution that strives to strengthen and increase the efficiency of providing services to taxpayers through the modernization of the relevant functions of tax collection and tax services, and has developed and implemented technology applications.

The training was held in collaboration with the General Department of Taxation and the CPL firm.

Revenue from stamp duty tax on property transfers was recorded at approximately US$55.7 million in Q1 of 2022, an increase of 35% compared to the same period last year.
