German Tech Giant BOSCH Announces Plans to Establish Factory in Cambodia

German technology giant BOSCH is set to explore the establishment of a factory in Cambodia, following a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol and Alexander Weichsel, Manager of BOSCH Commercial Plant, on 13 June 2024.

HE Sun Chanthol highlighted Cambodia’s investment potential across various sectors including agriculture, agro-industry, automobiles, electronics, health, renewable energy, tourism, and hospitality, urging BOSCH to expand its Southeast Asian operations into Cambodia.

In response, Alexander Weichsel committed to dispatching representatives from BOSCH’s bases in Singapore and Vietnam to conduct a detailed study on the feasibility of opening a plant in Cambodia. This move signifies a strategic step for BOSCH, which is one of the world’s leading technology and service providers, employing 429,000 people globally and operating across sectors such as technology, industry, consumer goods, and energy.

BOSCH Group’s potential expansion into Cambodia underscores the country’s growing attractiveness as a hub for foreign investment, driven by its strategic location and diverse economic opportunities. This development promises to further bolster Cambodia’s economic landscape, providing new avenues for growth and employment in the region.
