Government Establishes Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committee to Promote Investment Activities

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, issued a sub-decree establishing the Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committee as a mechanism for reviewing private investment and resolving disputes related to investment projects.

The Sub-Decree dated 20 June 2022, stated that the governors of all capital/provinces are the chairman and deputy governors of capital/provinces are the deputy chairman and the directors of relevant departments as members.

The Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committees have the roles and responsibilities to review and decide on the registration, provision of incentives, guarantee, purchase, sale, merger, revoking, and resolution of disputes related to private investment projects with the equivalent of US$5 million in the capital in the jurisdiction of the Capital / Provincial Administrations in accordance with the procedures set by a separate sub-decree and in accordance with the Investment Law of Cambodia.

Projects with an investment capital of more than US$5 million, investment projects in special economic zones and energy-related investment projects are among the projects that are not required to pass the procedures of the Capital-Provincial Investment Sub-Committee.
