Government to Construct Training Pool Ahead of 2023 Sea Games

H.E Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) told a meeting in Kaoh Thum District on Sunday 12 August, 2018 that the government will construct swimming pools in the area so athletes can train for the 2023 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, according to Fresh News.

H.E Vasim Sorya, Director General of the Department of Administration and Finance for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), told Construction & Property Magazine on 13 August that there might be two swimming pools.

“Actually there might be two swimming pools in Kaoh Thum District; one is for athletes to train for the SEA Games and another is for ordinary use,” he said.

Details on construction budget or timeframes are yet to be announced.

H.E Sun Chanthol promised the people living in KaohThum District,Kandal Province, that there are more plans to construct concrete roads equipped with solar-power lampposts in the area.

Cambodia is preparing for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which will take place in 2023 at the Morodok Techo National Sports Complex, construction of which has been partially supported by the Chinese government. (Read more )
