Impact Resettlement Works Ongoing for NR71C Construction in Tbong Khmum

The construction of the NR71C, a project connecting the Kroch Chhmar-Stueng Trang Bridge and Tbong Khmum provincial town, is still proceeding, although the groundbreaking ceremony has yet to take place due to the COVID community outbreak.

To date, the inter-ministerial committee is working on the impact of resettlement and other issues that have occurred. On 11 May, Tbong Khmum Deputy Governor HE Hak Sok Makara together with the relevant officers inspected the construction sites.

Upon completion, this national road will serve as another major infrastructure connecting Kampong Cham and Tbong Khmum provinces after the recently completed Stueng Trang-Krouch Chhmar Bridge. Both infrastructure projects will help promote transportation, trade, and economic growth of both provinces.

The Stueng Trang-Kroch Chhmar Bridge has been temporarily opened for the public since 23 March 2021, with the official inauguration ceremony to be held at the same time as the groundbreaking ceremony of Road 71 C after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. (Read more)
