Kampot Administration Puts Travel Restriction on National Road 3

Kampot Provincial Administration has announced travel restrictions on National Road 3 at the border point of Prey Nob District of Sihanoukville and Teuk Chhou District of Kampot Province with maximum caution.

Kampot Governor Cheav Tay said on 04 March that to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the provincial administration decided to close traffic between Kampot and Sihanoukville temporarily, except for cargo trucks and ambulances.

HE Cheav Tay added that for all entry and exit at the target borders, they will strictly check the temperature and note all the driver’s travel record and final target. This will be helpful for case management if anyone is found positive later.

He also urged the public not to travel between the two provinces if there is no necessary work.

Travel restrictions between Kampot and Sihanoukville were put in place after Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen ordered a Sihanoukville lockdown on Wednesday 03 March.
