The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC) has called all relevant stakeholders in the construction sector to jointly promote work safety in the construction sector.

Earlier this month, Mr Chiv SivPheng, Director of the Ministry of Land Management’s Construction Technical Research Department, called on all relevant stakeholders to provide assistance in printing out the recently released construction safety handbook.

Speaking at the Consultative Workshop regarding construction safety organised by international NGO CARE and Legal Support for Children and Women (LSCW), Mr Chiv SivPheng asked construction companies, civil organisations and other respective parties help fund the printing of the construction safety handbook to be distributed to construction workers across the country.

The 48-page handbook was compiled by the MLMUPC in cooperation with the Cambodia Constructors Association (CCA) and Canadia Bank to enhances safety knowledge for construction workers. So far, around 8,000 copies have been published, of which 5,000 copies are sponsored by CCA and 3,000 by Canadia Bank. (Read more)
