MoE to Strengthen Waste Management Nationwide; 50 Incinerators Built in 49 Districts

The Ministry of Environment (MoE) has thus far built over 50 incinerators in 21 provinces or 49 districts, to strengthen the nationwide waste management system more effectively.

The ministry is also committed to further tightening and enhancing the capacity of sub-national administrations, by encouraging officials to work in accordance with the ministry’s technical and waste management policies.

The ministry has also praised four sub-national administrations which have been implementing waste management work very well. These include Banteay Srei district in Siem Reap province, Prey Veng city and Svay Antor district in Prey Veng province. and Ou Raing Ov district in Tbong Khmum province.

Meanwhile, Prey Nob, Anlong Veng Snuol, and Pichreda districts are also moving towards effective solid waste management.
