Mondulkiri Authorities Issue New Orders to Crackdown on Illegal Divided Land Plot Businesses

Mondulkiri provincial authorities have warned of severe fines and legal action against any unlicensed divided land plot businesses (Dey Lo), while they currently crack down on these businesses at their locations.

The warning came after provincial authorities have found many businesses operating illegally without permits. In some cases, the developers refuse to transfer land ownership to buyers after the sale, while some others are being developed against the land-use masterplan of the province.

According to the notification letter dated 3 March, to put an end to this issue, the provincial administration has issued three orders including:

1) Business owners must apply for a permit before starting their land development

2) Business owners must display legal documents at the location of the land or project for the public to see.

3) Business owners must provide a copy of the original documents to the buyer including a business license, title deed, and other relevant documents.
