NR No. 48 Upgrade Achieves 64% Completion with Targeted Finish by May 2025

The rehabilitation and upgrading of NR No. 48, a crucial 148 km stretch from Sre Ambel to Koh Kong, has reached 64.05% completion, marking significant progress in the project aimed at enhancing connectivity in the province. This milestone was highlighted during the 5th Joint Monitoring Meeting by His Excellency So Vector, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, who also serves as Chairman of the project, according to the Ministry’s latest update on 21 August 2024.

The ministry is intensifying efforts on quality control, machinery, and labour supply to ensure the project’s timely completion by May 2025. The ministry discussed proposals, challenges, and detailed work directions to expedite construction, ensuring that this vital infrastructure upgrade will bolster transportation efficiency and regional development.

This ambitious project, which began on 3 January 2022, focuses on upgrading the section from the intersection of NR No. 4 PK 141 + 750 (Chamkar Luong – Sre Ambel District) to Khemarak Phoumin in Koh Kong Province. With an estimated budget of approximately USD 78 million. (Read more)
