This modern garbage disposal site, constructed as part of the Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Development Project, Phase 4, was funded by a concessional loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and built by BM Construction & Electric Co., Ltd. The project was completed in 11 months, addressing the region’s growing waste management needs.

The landfill’s first operational phase is set to manage local waste for the next seven years, from 2024 to 2031. Designed to enhance environmental safety and quality of life, the landfill represents a critical advancement in solid waste management infrastructure. The Kampong Cham City Landfill Development Project is a model of progress for the Mekong region, reflecting the Cambodian government’s commitment to sustainability and modern waste management solutions.
