New Medical Laboratory Building in Sihanoukville Officially Handed Over

A new Chinese-funded medical laboratory building in the Sihanoukville Provincial Referral Hospital has been completed and officially handed over to the Cambodian government.

The handover ceremony took place via online conference earlier this week with the participation of the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia HE Wang Wentian, Minister of Health HE Mam Bunheng and Sihanoukville Governor HE Kouch Chamroeun.

According to the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, besides assisting fund in the construction of the laboratory, China will also send a team of experts to facilitate the installation of the COVID-19 test equipment and to train relevant health workers.

Ambassador Wang said China will continue to support and contribute to Cambodia’s development, especially via infrastructure development.
