New Siem Reap International Airport 35% Complete, On Schedule

As of 23 December, construction of the new Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (AIAI) is 35% complete and expected to finish in March 2023 as scheduled.

According to the site inspection by State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) HE Mao Havannall on 23 December, construction on the airport is proceeding smoothly despite the pandemic.

During the inspection, Angkor International Airport Investment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. also presented the key achievements in 2020 and the 2021 plan to the officials.

The airport is being built on a 700-hectare land plot with a 1,000-hectare special economic zone under an investment of over US$900 million.

Construction began on 15 March 2020 and is scheduled to be completed in 36 months. (Read more)

Besides this new airport, Siem Reap infrastructure is also currently under a major renovation, which is the 38-roads renovation project that was broken ground last month. (Read more)
