Dang Kambit Reservoir Dam Construction Reaches 46% Completion, Set to Serve 25k Farmers’ Future

The Dang Kambit Reservoir Dam in Sre Khsach village, Dang Kambit commune, Sandan district, Kampong Thom province, has achieved 46% completion as of 20 December 2024, marking a significant milestone in this transformative project. The update was confirmed during an on-site inspection led by HE Chuon Bitthol, Undersecretary of State, representing HE Tho Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology.

During the inspection, HE Chuon Bitthol highlighted the critical need to maintain high construction quality and aesthetic standards, urging the technical team and inspection group to ensure timely completion as per the project’s schedule.

The Dang Kambit Reservoir Dam project, which began on 4 December 2023, is set to take 48 months to complete, with a vision to revolutionize agricultural support for Kampong Thom Province. The reservoir will serve approximately 25,000 farmers and improve the livelihoods of an estimated 85,300 individuals across six districts: Baray, Sandan, Santuk, Stong, Kampong Svay, and Prasat Sambo. This critical infrastructure project is funded through concessional financing provided by the Export-Import Bank of China (EXIMBANK) and prioritized under the Financial Law for 2023. (Read more)
