Progress on Dang Kambit Reservoir Dam Reaches 46%

The construction of the Dang Kambit Reservoir Dam in Sre Khsach Village, Dang Kambit Commune, Sandan District, has achieved a significant milestone, reaching 46% completion as of December 20, 2024. This update follows an on-site inspection led by HE Chuon Bitthol, Undersecretary of State, on behalf of HE Tho Chetha, the Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology.

HE Bitthol emphasized the importance of maintaining high construction quality and aesthetic standards during the inspection. He urged the technical team from the construction company and the inspection team to prioritize the project’s completion by the established timeline.

The Dang Kambit Reservoir Dam project, which commenced on December 4, 2023, is set to take 48 months to complete. Once finished, it is anticipated that the reservoir will serve approximately 25,000 farmers—benefitting an estimated 85,300 individuals across several districts, including Baray, Sandan, Santuk, Stong, Kampong Svay, and Prasat Sambo in Kampong Thom Province. This vital infrastructure project is funded through concessional financing from the Export-Import Bank of China (EXIMBANK) and is regarded as a priority initiative outlined in the Financial Law for 2023. (Read more)
