Siem Reap Among World’s Top 10 Trending Destinations in 2023

Siem Reap ranks 4th among the 10 most popular tourist destinations in the world, according to Trip Advisor, a world-renowned online travel agency. 

While Cuba heads the list of top trending destinations, Hoi An in Vietnam is second, Mauritius third, Siem Reap (Cambodia) fourth, Chiang Mai in Thailand fifth, Grand Cayman in the Caribbean sixth, Fes in Morocco seventh, Baku in Azerbaijan eighth, Kathmandu (the Nepal capital) ninth and Krakow in Poland appears in Tripadvisor’s top trending destinations report for 2023. 

“Siem Reap is a province with tourism potential. Besides temples, there are many other tourist attractions waiting to welcome national and international tourists, especially nightlife after a full-day visit. PUB Street is a place that offers a sense of fun and food and drinks accompanied by beautiful music,” the Ministry of Tourism wrote on its Facebook page on 30 January. 

Top trending destinations in the world for 2023 reveal tourism hotspots with the greatest year-over-year growth in the interest shown by tourists on the TripAdvisor portal. 

According to a report by the Ministry of Tourism released last week, during the Lunar New Year celebrations, Siem Reap received over 105,400 visitors with more than 15,400 being foreigners.
