SR 38-Road Renovation 70% Complete, On Track for Final Completion in December

Construction on the 38-road renovations in Siem Reap will be completed by December this year as scheduled, while progress to date has reached over 70%, according to Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol during the MPWT LIVE SHOW on Monday 30 August.

HE Sun Chanthol said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the ministry has been working hard to ensure that the quality of the construction remains high as promised while the timeline is also still on track.

HE Sun Chanthol also used this occasion to apologise for any inconvenience especially for vendors and shophouses along the roads.

The minister also urged the construction team to spray water regularly on the construction site to prevent dust, quickly close the sewers in front of shophouses, and ensure that the construction does not cause traffic jams.

With a total length of 108km and estimated to consume a total budget of US$140 million, this project stretches across 12 districts of Siem Reap city and a part of Prasat Bakong and the 38 roads will be well-connected with other main road systems to ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents.
