Techo Santepheap Ankoul Beach Road in Kep Province Officially Inaugurated

The Techo Santepheap Ankoul Road construction project, costing USD10 million, has been officially inaugurated in Ang Kol, Kep Village, and Angkor Village, located within Ang Koul Commune of Damnak Chang Eur District, Kep Province. Prime Minister Hun Manet led the inauguration ceremony on November 11, 2024.

This project is part of a tourism infrastructure initiative to promote environmental growth in the Greater Mekong Subregion, Phase 2, managed by the Ministry of Tourism. The main road was constructed over a period of 22 months, from January 2022 to January 2024, funded by USD10 million in concessional loans from the Asian Development Bank, along with additional contributions from the Government to cover impacts and taxes.

The construction included several technical elements, such as asphalt concrete paving that is 10 cm thick and 5.5 m wide for one-way traffic or 10 m wide for two-lane roads. Significant support infrastructure was also developed, including a roundabout at the Angkor location, bicycle lanes, pedestrian paths, 28 concrete drainage gutters, and a 1,182-meter-long concrete drainage system with traffic signage and solar lights illuminating 164 roads.

In addition to celebrating the project’s accomplishments, PM encouraged further studies to explore the construction of a coastal road connecting Kep to Koh Kong. (Read more)
