The USD 10 million Techo Santepheap Ankoul road project, aimed at enhancing tourism infrastructure, was officially inaugurated in Ang Kol, Kep village, and Angkor village in Ang Koul commune, Damnak Chang Eur district, Kep province.

Led by PM Samdech Hun Manet, the ceremony on 11 November 2024 marked the completion of this pivotal project in the Greater Mekong Subregion’s Phase 2 tourism infrastructure initiative, managed by Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism.

Completed over 22 months, from January 2022 to January 2024, the road project was funded through concessional loans from the Asian Development Bank, with additional support from the Cambodian government to cover impact costs and taxes.

The road features a 10 cm thick asphalt concrete surface, with a width of 5.5 meters for one-way traffic and 10 meters for two-lane sections. Infrastructure enhancements include a roundabout at Angkor, dedicated bicycle lanes, pedestrian paths, 28 concrete drainage gutters, and an extensive 1,182-metre concrete drainage system. The route is equipped with 164 solar-powered lights for night visibility and is reinforced with traffic signage for safety.
