Led by PM Samdech Hun Manet, the ceremony on 11 November 2024 marked the completion of this pivotal project in the Greater Mekong Subregion’s Phase 2 tourism infrastructure initiative, managed by Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism.

Completed over 22 months, from January 2022 to January 2024, the road project was funded through concessional loans from the Asian Development Bank, with additional support from the Cambodian government to cover impact costs and taxes.

Infrastructure enhancements include a roundabout at Angkor, dedicated bicycle lanes, pedestrian paths, 28 concrete drainage gutters, and an extensive 1,182-metre concrete drainage system. The route is equipped with 164 solar-powered lights for night visibility and is reinforced with traffic signage for safety.
