New National Assembly Building in Cambodia Reaches 57% Completion with Vietnam’s US$25m Grant

The construction of Cambodia’s new National Assembly building, funded by a US$25 million grant from Vietnam, has reached 57% completion. The project committee, led by National Assembly President Khuon Sodary, reviewed progress on 31 July 2024.

During the meeting, TCV, an international construction company, reported that although the project was initially expected to be completed by August, COVID-19 related delays have pushed the expected completion date to October 2024. Construction began in December 2021 and has faced significant challenges due to the pandemic.

This new 12-storey administrative building is a gift from Vietnam to Cambodia, symbolising the enduring friendship between the two nations. President Khuon Sodary highlighted the building’s significance as a testament to their bilateral relations. (Read more)
