Progress Update: NR No. 7 Expansion from Skun to Kampong Cham Reaches 8% Completion

Progress on the expansion and enhancement project of NR No. 7, stretching from the Skun roundabout to Kampong Cham provincial town, has reached 8%, with a total project value of US$117 million. This update was provided by Mr. Sok Lim Heang, Director of the Department of Public Works and Transport of Kampong Cham Province, on 22 April 2024.

Since the commencement of construction on 9 January 2023, over a year ago, approximately 8% of the project has been completed along the 45-kilometre stretch of NR No. 7, starting from the Skun roundabout in Kampong Cham.

Mr. Heang highlighted the efforts led by HE Un Chanda, Governor of Kampong Cham Province, and relevant authorities to address the concerns of local residents impacted by the road construction. Notably, the community has responded positively, recognising the benefits of widening the road from 2 lanes to 4 lanes, including a spacious median, to enhance safety and efficiency of travel between Kampong Cham and Phnom Penh.

The expansion project was inaugurated on 9 January 2023, under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen. (Read more)
