Three Cambodian Institutions Shine in Energy Efficiency Awards for Commercial Buildings

In a landmark event celebrating energy efficiency, three Cambodian institutions emerged as winners at the Cambodian Energy Efficiency Competition (CEE Comp) awards, hosted by the Ministry of Environment in partnership with Sevea Co., Ltd. on November 4, 2024.

Ecole Paul Dubrule Tourism School in Siem Reap took the top prize, with the Lotus Green Team and Confluences following in second and third place, respectively.

In the commercial building category, COVA earned first place, while Lotus Green Team and Zuellig Pharma secured second and third. Ecole Paul Dubrule also led the hotel category, with Sun and Moon Hotel awarded second place. The awards ceremony highlighted Cambodia’s dedicated drive toward energy efficiency and carbon neutrality by 2050.

HE Van Monineath, representing the Ministry of Environment, commended the awardees for their commitment and called on more organisations to participate in future competitions, underscoring the critical role of such initiatives in achieving national sustainability goals.

He acknowledged Cambodia’s strides in reducing carbon emissions through energy efficiency improvements, with the CEE Comp programme alone cutting down around 350 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
