Turkey breaks world record of having longest suspension bridge

The world’s longest suspension bridge was put into use in Turkey in earlier March, making Turkey take the title from Japan (Akashi Kaikyo Bridge) for having the world’s longest suspension bridge.

Named 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, this bridge was built cross over the Dardanelles Waterway in Turkey, stretching over 2,023 meters long, according to the Time Out reported on 28 March.

Took 5 years to complete construction, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge cost US$2.8 billion in construction.

Its two red towers that hold the structure together are also the tallest of any suspension bridge
