Twin Skybridge along the 60-meter highway at the intersection of NR 2: 45% Complete

The construction of a twin sky bridge along the 60-meter highway at the intersection of National Road 2 is progressing well, with the project now 45% complete. The site was officially opened for construction on June 17, 2024, as part of efforts to enhance traffic flow between Phnom Penh and Kandal Province.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on January 26, 2025, significant strides have been made since the project’s inception. The twin sky bridge, aptly named “Samdech Maha Bavorathiptei,” aims to alleviate congestion and improve connectivity. The ministry announced its goal to complete the first bridge—connecting Samdech Hun Sen Boulevard to Techo Airport—by April 2025, with an overall completion date set for June 2025.

This ambitious infrastructure project boasts a construction value exceeding 16 million VND. The twin bridges will feature a concrete (I-beam) design, each measuring 9.5 meters in width and spanning 281 meters in length. The northern bridgehead will extend 180 meters, while the southern bridgehead will reach 161 meters, resulting in a total bridge length of 622 meters. Each bridge will provide three one-way-traffic lanes, with lane widths of 3.25 meters, 3.25 meters, and 2 meters. (Read more)
