USAID Mulls Providing US$3 million in Aid to Upgrade Cambodia Cold Chain Logistic System

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is requesting the US Government to provide US$3 million in aid to implement the upgrade of the Cold Chain Logistic System in Cambodia.

This plan was revealed by the USAID Country Director for Cambodia Veena Reddy during her farewell meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries HE Veng Sakhon on 28 June.

Ms Reddy said that if the government approves the funding, it will be used to upgrade the Cold Chain Logistic System, which will use solar systems to enhance and foster the production and transportation of vegetables, fruits, fish and meats.

HE Veng Sakhon also welcomed the Cold Chain Logistic System project as it will help improve the efficiency of production and also help bring up the standard of product packaging and transportation to another level.

On this occasion, HE Veng Sakhon Sar also thanked USAID for its past contribution to Cambodia’s development through various development projects.
