Yazaki Expands Investment Plans in Cambodia

Yazaki Corporation, a renowned Japanese firm specializing in wire assembly, has announced its ambitious plans to further expand its investment in Cambodia. This move comes as the company celebrates over a decade of successful operations in the country.

During a recent meeting, Mr. Yoshimoto Ito, the Deputy CEO of Yazaki, discussed these expansion plans with His Excellency Chea Wutty, Secretary General of the Cambodia Investment Committee, highlighting the company’s commitment to increasing its footprint in the region.

Secretary General Wutty expressed his appreciation for Yazaki’s contributions to Cambodia’s economy and encouraged the company to consider locating its new investment in a special economic zone. This strategy is aimed at attracting additional Japanese investors to the Cambodian market.

Mr Ito expressed gratitude for the support from the Council for the Development of Cambodia, emphasizing the importance of their collaboration in facilitating Yazaki’s growth in the region. “We are excited about the prospects of expanding our operations in Cambodia, and we appreciate the invaluable insights provided during our discussions,” Ito stated.

Yazaki has established a factory producing electrical wiring accessories in the Neang Kok Economic Zone in Koh Kong Province, where it has operated successfully for more than 10 years. The company has a rich history, having been based in Guangdong Province, China, for around 40 years. Currently, it partners with Guangdong Dongfang Investment Co., Ltd. to further enhance its capabilities and investment potential.

As Yazaki continues to strengthen its presence in Cambodia, this expansion is expected to create new job opportunities and contribute significantly to the local economy.
