Omani Delegation Explores Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

An Omani delegation is seeking investment partners in Cambodia to strengthen economic ties between the two nations. During a meeting on March 18, 2025, H.E. Sar Shinira, Deputy Secretary General of the Investment Committee of Cambodia, met with Mr. Nguyen Xuan Giao, Executive Director of the Vietnam-Oman Investment Agency.

Mr. Giao highlighted the agency’s focus on investing in Southeast Asia, particularly in agriculture, food processing, and green energy—sectors that are crucial for regional food and energy security.

H.E. Sar Shinira welcomed the delegation and emphasized Cambodia’s favourable investment climate, which allows for 100% foreign ownership in various sectors and offers significant incentives for investors.

The Omani Investment Authority has been actively investing in Southeast Asia, particularly in infrastructure, logistics, and technology, using funds generated from the Omani government’s oil revenues.

Cambodia’s investment landscape remains strong, with 414 projects valued at over USD 6.8 billion approved in 2024. In the first two months of 2025, there have already been 112 new investment projects approved, worth approximately USD 1.069 billion. The Cambodian government continues to encourage foreign investment to ensure sustainable economic growth.
