ADB to Provide US$100 billion in Climate Financing to Developing Countries

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced on 13 October 2021, that it is ready to provide US$100 billion in climate financing to developing member countries including Cambodia for 2019-2030.The increased financial ambitions are an important

part of ADB’s efforts to support its developing member countries (DMCs), according to a press release.Climate change mitigation projects, including energy conservation, energy efficiency, low-carbon transportation, urban services, agriculture, and

water, will be designed primarily for effective climate adaptation and resilience in key priority areas that ADB focuses on its climate financing project, read the statement.

Through these sectors, ADB will continue to expand access to new climate-focused technologies and raise private capital to support climate finance.

ADB is committed to achieving environmental prosperity, resilience, and sustainability in the Asia-Pacific region in line with its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty.
