The Apsara Authority plans to inaugurate the 15-hectare Angkor Botanical Garden, featuring grass fields, flower gardens, fruit trees, and wildlife for visitors on 9 May 2022, according to the Department of Information in Siem Reap province.

He said that the Angkor Botanical Garden has five sections: a spice garden also with medicinal plants, a flower and grass garden, and a palm garden that grows many kinds of palm plants.

The fourth section is a Khmer garden gathering various kinds of fruit trees, including domestic fruit trees and imported wood, and the fifth is the Angkor Forest and Wildlife Park, which is part of the forest in the Angkor resort area. But it has been redesigned for pathways with water to make it attractive.

The Angkor Botanical Garden is located in Trapeang Ses Village, Kork Chak commune, Siem Reap city.

After the official opening, the park is scheduled to open to the public free of charge within a month, after which the authorities will sell tickets to visitors at cheap prices to cover the garden’s preparation and maintenance.

APSARA Authority expects that the Angkor Botanical Garden will provide more new tourism products to attract tourists to visit Siem Reap.
