Austrian Firm Studies Feasibility of Building Cable Car System in Phnom Penh

The Austrian company Doppelmayr Group has been studying the possibility of a “Cable Car” project in Phnom Penh. 

In the past, the company has expressed interest in investing in transportation using cable cars to promote public transport in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. (Read more)

In a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport Mr Touch Chankosal on 7 February 2023, Doppelmayr Regional Manager Martin Ladner expressed his interest in investing in various public transport projects. 

The firm would like to study whether they can take part in any of the existing or under-study infrastructure projects in Phnom Penh and other cities. 

Mr Toch Chankosal told the firm to prepare in detail the capabilities, benefits, and features of the project and the ministry will review them. 

Doppelmayr Group is an Austrian company specialising in the planning, development, design, production, construction, and support of innovative projects related to the safe and efficient use of cable car transportation.
