Battambang Independence Monument Nears Completion with 85% Progress

The construction of Battambang’s Independence Monument is almost complete, with a progress of 85%, according to the Battambang Provincial Administration on 24 April 2023. The monument is set to be finished by the end of April or early May 2023, allowing the construction of the surrounding roads to commence.

The construction team has been working tirelessly to ensure the completion of the Independence Monument on schedule. In order to maintain momentum, the team has been working around the clock, including organizing a prayer ceremony for peace on April 24, to raise the dragon’s head on the top of the monument.

The Battambang Provincial Independence Monument was inaugurated on 15 December 2022 under the presidency of Samdech Sar Kheng, Minister of Interior. The monument, a symbol of Cambodia’s independence, has been under construction for months and is expected to serve as a landmark for visitors and residents alike.
