Finance Minister Aun Pornmoniroth and US-ASEAN Business Council Leader Brian McFeeters Reaffirm Commitment to Driving High-Value Private Sector Growth Across Key Industrial Sectors

Economic cooperation between Cambodia and the United States reached a major financial benchmark as total bilateral trade volume reached approximately $13 billion in 2025. The figures were highlighted in an official press release issued on July 24, 2026, following a high-level meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance HE Aun Pornmoniroth and Ambassador Brian D. McFeeters, President and Chief Executive Officer of the US-ASEAN Business Council. Both leaders reaffirmed a shared commitment to further expanding two-way business ties, trade flows, and bilateral investments between the two countries.

During the meeting, HE Aun Pornmoniroth expressed high appreciation for the deepening economic partnership between the two nations, emphasizing the vital role played by American multinational corporations operating across the Kingdom. Alongside the $13 billion bilateral trade achievement, cumulative American investment capital in Cambodia has expanded to approximately $1 billion. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that these robust commercial ties serve as an important anchor for maintaining macroeconomic stability and supporting long-term public financial sustainability in Cambodia.

In response, Ambassador Brian D. McFeeters pledged to share detailed updates regarding Cambodia’s evolving business climate directly with policymakers and corporate stakeholders in Washington, DC. By actively promoting Cambodia’s regulatory improvements and market opportunities in the United States, the US-ASEAN Business Council aims to attract further American enterprise capital and bring the commercial interests of both nations into closer alignment.

To support ongoing economic transformation, the Minister of Economy and Finance reiterated Cambodia’s open-door policy to American investors across several high-priority sectors. Key areas highlighted for high-potential joint development include agro-industry, clean energy, digital technology, logistics, healthcare, education, and advanced technology manufacturing.
