Boeung Tumpun Pumping Station 70% Complete, Large-scale Pump Motors Being Installed

The construction of the Boeung Tumpun pumping station is now 70% complete and scheduled to be operational by March 2022, while the working team is currently installing three large-scale pump motors.

One pump motor has a diameter of 1.5m and the other two have a diameter of 1.2m. The three motors together can pump water up to 42,000 cubic metres per hour or 12 cubic metres per second.

The Department of Public Works and Transport Director Sam Piseth said on 16 December that this station will be the one with the largest pump motor and the largest pumping capacity in Phnom Penh.

This project is being built by the Department of Public Works and Transport of Phnom Penh. Upon completion, it will help reduce flooding in the area of Boeung Tumpun, Stung Meanchey, St. 2004, Mondial area, and the south and east areas of Phnom Penh International Airport.
