Cambodia and China Partner to Advance Satellite Imagery Technology for Environmental Modernization

Strategic MoU aims to build ecological safety and a green future through enhanced data management and precision monitoring

Cambodia and China have committed to a new era of technical cooperation aimed at modernizing the Kingdom’s environmental sector through advanced satellite imagery technology. The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on March 12, 2026, by His Excellency Khvay Atitya, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Environment, and Mr. Chit Di, Deputy General Manager of the Chinese state-owned Guangxi Land and Resources Planning and Design Group Co., Ltd.

During the ceremony, Mr. Chit Di expressed his appreciation for the Ministry’s trust in his company and shared an optimistic vision for the collaboration. He emphasized that this joint effort would mark a historic milestone in strategic and precision-based operations, designed to ensure long-term ecological security and foster a sustainable, green future for Cambodia.

His Excellency Khvay Atitya highlighted that the agreement is a crucial step in the Ministry of Environment’s broader efforts to address critical challenges in natural resource management. By utilizing cutting-edge satellite imagery and improving image database management systems, the Ministry aims to gain more accurate and timely insights into environmental changes, supporting more effective policy-making and conservation strategies.

This cooperation underscores the growing technological synergy between Cambodia and China, specifically focusing on leveraging innovation to protect the environment and manage the nation’s ecological assets with greater precision and transparency.
