Diplomatic Milestone: Cambodia to Establish Embassy in Pakistan

In a significant diplomatic development, Cambodia has agreed to establish an embassy in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This decision comes in response to a formal request made by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan during a meeting with Cambodia’s Prime Minister on 4 October 2023.

During the meeting, the Pakistani Ambassador, on an official visit to Cambodia, emphasised the importance of this diplomatic move in facilitating various mechanisms, particularly in enhancing trade relations and fostering people-to-people ties between the two nations.

In a welcoming response, Cambodia’s Prime Minister readily accepted the proposal to establish a Cambodian Embassy in Pakistan, reaffirming the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

This decision underscores the already robust cooperation between Cambodia and Pakistan, with trade being a notable area of collaboration. The prospect of establishing a Joint Trade Committee further demonstrates the commitment of both nations to expanding their economic partnership.

As Cambodia prepares to open its embassy in Pakistan, it marks a pivotal moment in their diplomatic relations, signifying a deeper commitment to fostering mutual understanding and cooperation on the global stage.
